One of Microsoft’s largest and most useful customer support web assets, the Microsoft Learning website, had grown unwieldy, was verbose, and lacked clarity. The site’s core goal is to help users understand which certifications they need and how to get to the associated content, but it was not meeting that need. Additionally, the site was out of sync with the latest corporate UI and content standards
Resources Online conducted a site scrub for Microsoft Learning—revising, updating, and tightening stale and outdated content. We helped develop a new site workflow, which enables users to clearly see and follow the specific steps needed to obtain certifications and associated content. We also helped redesign the site according to current Microsoft.com UI standards. The new content we developed for the site incorporated the Microsoft authentic-voice directive, which uses an informal writing style focused on clear communication—minus marketing jargon. The result is a clean, streamlined, and modern site that is helping Microsoft Learning better achieve its goals.
