Business challenge:
Microsoft has a number of internal conferencing technologies. When a new employee comes on board, he or she must quickly learn how to set up and run a meeting using the internal products and protocol. Microsoft asked Resources Online to create several short videos to teach employees how to set up and run meetings using these technologies.
The challenge in this project was information management: There was enough content for a full-day seminar. Resources Online had three minutes.
Challenge met.
Resources Online drew from years of experience creating instructional videos to:
- Work with the client team to define and sharpen message goals.
- Write a script that distilled complex information into key points that a viewer could digest in a short video.
- Use a combination of live action and screen capture to present instructive information in an entertaining way.
- Understand the technology showcased in the video. Resources Online video producers are technically knowledgeable and learn to use and communicate about a new product or version quickly.
Resources Online successfully achieved the project goal: to create a three-minute video that new employees could watch to learn how to conduct a conference meeting at Microsoft.
